The offical closing date for receipt of student grant applications for the 2011-12 academic year was 31 August 2011. However, depending on your circumstances your local authority or Vocational Education Committee (VEC) may agree to accept your student grant application after this closing date. You should contact the local authority or VEC in your home area in this regard.

Online application

For the 2011-12 academic year, an online Student Grant Application Form is available for 35 grant awarding authorities.

If you are applying for a student grant to one of the grant-awarding authorities involved, you may complete an online application. These grant awarding-authorities are:

Online application is the quickest and most efficient way to apply for a student grant to the participating grant awarding authority. If it is no longer possible to make an online application to your grant awarding authority you should contact them by phone and they may depending on your circumstances agree to accept a manual student grant application after the official closing date.

Online Grant Application Helpdesk

The new online system is being supported by a Helpdesk. This Helpdesk will deal specifically with any technical difficulties that may be encountered in accessing and using the online system. You can get contact details for the helpdesk when you register with the online facility.
