Check Rates of Payment

The BTEA is paid at the standard personal rate. If you currently get a reduced rate of social welfare payment and then you qualify for the BTEA, your weekly payment will increase. The BTEA includes increases for a qualified adult or qualified children, where applicable.

BTEA recipients can keep such secondary benefits as Christmas Bonus, Fuel Allowance or Diet Supplement.

The BTEA always replaces your qualifying social welfare payment; you do not receive two social welfare payments when you commence participation in the scheme.

Check the following listing to find out more about the payment that would apply to you should you be eligible.

If you qualify for the BTEA, your payment will be equivalent to the maximum standard rate of Jobseeker's Benefit.
